Emma Ryott

Emma Ryott studied Theatre Design in Nottingham. Since 2003, she has been working with Christian Spuck in ballet and opera. Together they produced Lulu, Eine Monstretragödie in Stuttgart, Anna Karenina in Zurich, Oslo and Moscow, Romeo and Juliet in Zurich, Woyzeck in Oslo and Zurich, Das Fräulein von S. in Stuttgart, Leonce and Lena in Montréal, Stuttgart and Zurich, Der Sandmann in Stuttgart and Zurich, Poppea / Poppea and Don Q. for Gauthier Dance, The Return of Ulysses for the Royal Ballet of Flanders, La Damnation de Faust at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Falstaff in Wiesbaden and Orfeo ed Euridice in Stuttgart. She has also worked closely with Director Keith Warner for Mathis der Maler at the Theater an der Wien, Manon Lescaut at the English National Opera as well as La Damnation de Faust and Harbison's The Great Gatsby at the Semperoper Dresden. Further highlights include Sunset Boulevard and Manon Lescaut in Gothenburg, Otello at the Salzburg Festival, The Heart of Robin Hood with the Royal Shakespeare Company, in Boston and Toronto (recipient of the Elliot Norton Award) and Tom Stoppard's Rock’n Roll in London's West End and on Broadway. She created the ballet costumes for ORF's worldwide broadcast of the Vienna Philharmonic New Year Concert 2016. In London she is working on a Chekhov Trilogy (Director: Jonathan Kent) at the National Theatre. (Information as of 2017)
