Type, scope and purpose of the collection of personal data
Personal data is information that can be used to determine a person, that is, information that can be traced back to a person. This includes name, e-mail address or telephone number. However other data such as preferences, hobbies, memberships or the websites a person has visited also applies as personal data. Personal data is only collected, used and forwarded by the provider when this is legally permitted or the user has consented to such.
You can generally use our website without any personal data being collected.
To use certain services of our website you must, however, send us personal data. You use these services voluntarily and you decide if you want to give us your data. This includes, for example, our Newsletter, the Forum, all forms and parts of the press area.
All personal data that is collected for ticket orders and ticket sales is saved and processed at the Bayerische Staatstheater's central service office. Please note the separate data protection information for this.
We will only use the personal data you provide via our website exclusively for the purposes of the respective surveys. Personal data that has been collected via our website is not sent to third parties. This does not include the sending of personal data to state institutions and authorities that are entitled to receive such information, only within the legal disclosure requirements or if we are required by a court decision to disclose such information.
Cookies and tracking tools
Usage date is collected exclusively for statistical purposes and to be able to further optimize and make our website even more attractive. Usage data is, for example, date and time of your page view of our website or the previously visited website, from which you accessed our website. The collection and processing of usage data is performed using the "Google Analytics" web analysis service. Google Analytics uses "cookies", text files, which are saved on your computer and which enable an analysis on our part of the use of the website. For this purpose the usage information generated by the cookie (including your shortened IP address) is transferred to our server and saved for usage analysis purposes, which aides website optimization at our side. Your IP address is immediately anonymized with this process, so that you as a user remain anonymous for us. The information generated by the cookie is saved on the Bayerische Staatsoper's servers and is not forwarded to third parties.
If you do not agree with the saving and analysis of this data from your visit, you can object to this saving and use at any time with a few clicks. In this case an opt-out cookie is stored in your browser, which means that Google Analytics will not collect any session data. When you delete your cookies this will also delete the opt-out cookie, and you will have to activate it again.
If you would like to decide against this, click on the following link to store the Google Analytics deactivation cookie in your browser.
Security of your personal data
The Bayerische Staatsoper protects your personal data against unauthorized access, use or publication. For this purpose your personal data is encrypted on the Bayerische Staatsoper's servers by our website with the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) methods. The Forum is intended as an information exchange. Commercial use of the Forum is not permitted. Objectionable or defamatory material will not be published. All contributions are moderated, that is, published by one of the administrators. A valid e-mail address is stored in the user account for registration in the Forum. Expired contributions are deleted regularly by the administrators or when requested by Forum users.
Integration of services and content of third parties
It is possible that the content of third parties, such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics of other websites, for example, may be integrated within this online offering. This always requires the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "Third party providers") to use the IP address of the user, because without the IP address they cannot send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for showing this content. We make every effort to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address for delivering content. However we have no influence if the third party saves the IP address for statistical purposes, for example. We inform the user about this as much as we can.
Use of Facebook social plug-ins
This offering uses social plug-ins of the social network, facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins are recognizable from the Facebook logos (a white "f" on a blue tile or a "thumbs up" icon) or they show the "Facebook Social Plug-in" add-on. The list and the appearance of the Facebook social plugins can be viewed here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/
If a user opens a website of this offering, which contains such a plug-in, their browser sets up a direct connection with Facebook's servers. Facebook sends the content of the plug-in directly to your browser and this integrates it into the website. The provider therefore has no influence on the scope of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plug-in and therefore informs the user according to their level of knowledge:
The integration of the plug-ins provides Facebook with the information that the user has accessed on the corresponding page of the offering. If the user is logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to their Facebook account. If users interact with the plug-ins, by pressing the Like button or giving a comment, for example, the corresponding information is sent directly from their browser to Facebook and saved there. If a user is not a Facebook member, there is nevertheless the possibility that Facebook will learn and save their IP address. According to Facebook only one anonymized IP address is saved in Germany.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as rights and setting options to protect the user's privacy in this respect, can be found in Facebook's data protection information: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data via this offering about them and links with their member data saved with Facebook, they must log out before the visit to Facebook's Internet presence.
This offering uses the Twitter service buttons. These buttons are offered by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. They are recognizable with terms such as "Twitter" or "Follow", connected with a stylized blue bird. The buttons allow you to share a blog/contribution or page of this offering on Twitter or to follow the provider on Twitter.
If a user opens a website of this Internet presence, which contains such a button, their browser sets up a direct connection with Twitter's servers. Twitter sends the content of the Twitter buttons directly to the user's browser. The provider therefore has no influence on the scope of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and informs the users according to their level of knowledge: Only the IP address of the user is then sent the URL of the respective website when the button is obtained, but for no other purpose than to show the button. You will find more information on this in Twitter's data privacy statement at http://twitter.com/privacy.

And there is also a right to complain with the respective data protection supervisory authority. (Art. 77 GDPR)
