Opera for all 2017
As per Munich Opera Festival tradition, the Bayerische Staatsoper and BMW Munich invite you to Opera for all . The programme will include a free open-air concert and a free live opera broadcast at the Max Joseph Platz.
When hundreds of people gather together at sunset, sitting on picnic blankets and cushions or simply perching on the ground to listen to music, it creates a very special atmosphere: relaxed, spellbound, joyful. The Opera for all events are something very special even for the Bayerische Staatsoper. We're honoured to be able to offer two open-air evenings to you this season.
Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser will be broadcast live on the 9th of July 2017 from the National Theatre at the Max Joseph Platz. General Music Director Kirill Petrenko conducts this new version, while Romeo Castellucci is in charge of the production.
