Opera for all 2019

Opera for all 2018

During the Munich Opera Festival, the Bayerische Staatsoper and BMW München traditionally invite to Opera for all: the programme includes a free open-air concert and a free opera live broadcast on Max-Joseph-Platz. When hundreds of people gather in a square at sunset, sit on picnic blankets, cushions, or just sit on the floor to listen to the music, it creates a very special atmosphere: casual, devout, joyful. The events of Opera for all are also very special for the Bayerische Staatsoper. We are happy to be able to offer you two open-air evenings this season.

The open-air concert on 20 July 2019 at Max-Joseph-Platz will be conducted personally by General Music Director Kirill Petrenko. The programme will be announced shortly. The evening will begin with the Youth Orchestra of the Bayerisches Staatsorchester, ATTACCA, with Die Hebriden by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
