Just as in the 2016/17 season, Igor Zelensky will open the stage of the Prinzregententheater in July 2018 to new, emerging choreographers – most of them successful dancers in their own right – who are on the cusp of their careers as choreographers. They will have the chance to work with the ensemble of Bayerisches Staatsballett and present their creations to the Munich audience. The Young Choreographers evening offers contemporary dance pieces, full of atmospheric music and sound impressions in combination with artistic movements.

For 2018, Menghan Lou from the Nederlands Dans Theater, Štěpán Pechar of the Czech National Ballet in Prag and Peter Walker of the New York City Ballet will choreograph pieces for Bayerisches Staatsballett. Dustin Klein, member of our ensemble, will again show one of his creations during Young Choreographers 2018, giving the audience the opportunity to explore the development and progress of his choreographic power.
