The Game Show: Queen of radio and TV entertainment since the 1930s, at first in the USA, soon all over the world. The fascination is in the word: A group of (mostly) adults follow their urge to play, observed by onlookers, the number of which often reaches into the millions. The Game Show is also the point of high expectations: Luck in the game promises fame and fortune. The expectation is the framing subject matter of the Game Show, which director Sapir Heller kneads out to music by Philip Venables. What holds us back most? The eternally same answers or the wrong questions? Are we seeing a scenic concert or taking part in a performance? Who are the winners? What are winners anyway? Following a concept of British composer Philip Venables, who within the performance brings a new piece to world premiere, on this evening the audience plays around these and many other questions, with or against a choir, encouraged or tricked by a game show host and entertainers.
