Biographies

Anna El-Khashem, born in St Petersburg, studied at the St Petersburg State Conservatory. She also participated in master classes by Elena Obraztsova, Olga Makarina and Larisa Gergieva. She is the winner of several prizes like the Sergey Leiferkus International Vocal Competition for Young Singers and the Elena Obraztsova International Competition for Young Vocalists. She performs regularly at the St Petersburg Academic Philharmonia, the Grand Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre. Recently she made her debut as Louisa in Prokofiev's Betrothal in a Monastery at the Theatre of the St Petersburg State Conservatory. She has received scholarships from the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Elena Obraztsova Charity Fund.
