In the Heute ist Morgen programme the Bayerisches Staatsballett presents choreographic positions of the present. The aim of the series is to offer young choreographers an attractive platform and to develop contemporary forms of ballet. The performances at the Prinzregententheater are extremely popular with the audience and show the broad spectrum of artistic signatures with which ballet is created today. Narrative, abstract, improvised, classical as well as elements from performance art are used and show the direction in which ballet could develop in the future. In the past Özkan Ayik, Charlotte Edmonds, Andrey Kaydanovskiy (now Resident Choreographer at the Bayerisches Staatsballett), Dustin Klein (a long-time dancer with the company and now a full-time choreographer), Anton Pimonov, most recently Jonah Cook (Principal with the Bayerisches Staatsballett), and Philippe Kratz, among others, have created world premieres with the company. The June 2023 programme will be announced during the season.
