Joost Biegelaar

Born in 1970, Joost studied stage management at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. In 1992, he joined Nederlands Dans Theater 1 under the direction of Jiří Kylián, where he worked as a stage manager and member of the technical and logistics team on countless productions and toured worldwide. After ten years with NDT 1, Biegelaar moved to the operating company of the Lucent Danstheater and the Dr Anton Philipszaal in The Hague, where he held the position of technical director for several years. Biegelaar currently works as a freelance lighting designer. He also collaborates regularly with Kylián Productions, where he is responsible for the technical supervision of performances of Jiří Kylián's works by ballet companies around the world.
