Here you will find all other ways to buy tickets for our opera, ballet and concert events. Whether for last-minute decisions at the box office or longer in advance. Whether online or with personal advice from our call center - there is sure to be the right way for you!

You will also find out about written orders and our various advance booking deadlines. After all, there is a great demand for many of our performances. To ensure the fairest possible allocation, we have several allotments that can be accessed at different times.

Buying tickets at Bayerische Staatsoper

AT ANY TIME FROM PUBLICATION OF THE SCHEDULE

You can easily place binding orders in writing as of now using the online form on the online schedule.

Three months before the performance date, all orders will be processed and half of all available tickets will be allocated. If demand exceeds the available ticket contingent, tickets will be allocated at random. If we are unable to fulfill your ticket request, we will notify you in writing. Orders can only be cancelled as long as processing has not yet begun.

TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE

Two months prior to each performance, online, telephone and over-the-counter sales of the second quality half of all available tickets will begin at 10am. If the date falls on a Sunday or public holiday, sales begin on the working day before. Here you can select your own seats in the seating plan and either have the tickets sent to you or print them out at home as a Ticketdirect or show them as a QR code on your smartphone.

PROCESSING FEE

For written orders as well as ticket purchases by phone and online, a processing fee or system fee of 2 € per ticket will be charged.

SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2024
The processing of written orders begins on Thu, 20.6.24. Online, telephone and counter sales for these performances start on Sat, 20.7.24.

UNICREDIT SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL 2024
Let's celebrate together! As part of the UniCredit Septemberfest, you have the opportunity to purchase tickets for all performances on 21 and 22 September 2024 at a standard price of €25 or €15 for all seats (tickets for the last three seating categories €8). Tickets will be available from Sat, 20.7.24 via online, telephone and box office sales, written orders will be processed from Thu, 20.6.24.

BALLET FESTIVAL WEEK 2025
Written orders will be processed from Fri, 10.1.25. Online, telephone and box office sales for the entire Ballet Festival Week will begin on Mon, 10.2.25.

JA, MAI 2025
Written orders will be processed from Sun, 2.2.25. Online, telephone and box office sales for the entire Ja, Mai Festival begin on Sat, 1.3.25.

MUNICH OPERA FESTIVAL 2025
Orders for the Munich Opera Festival (via online form) are already possible. Processing will begin on Sat, 1 February 2025 and is expected to be completed by mid-March 2025. You can find the online festival form directly here.Here you will immediately receive confirmation of receipt of your order and can check all the data again. 
In the customer details of the online form, you can also indicate whether you are a member of the Freunde des Nationaltheaters e. V., a patron of the Munich Opera Festival or whether you have a subscription or an Opera Plus card. Please only send us your order once. So that we can process your order even if your preferred price category is sold out, we recommend that you specify alternatives or a price limit. All orders received by Sat, 1.2.25 will be given equal priority. If demand exceeds the available ticket contingent, the decision will be made by drawing lots. Please note that wheelchair places will only be processed via written enquiries. The date of the traditional first sale and the issue of waiting numbers will be announced in the Festival brochure.

SUBSEQUENT REDUCTION
Subsequent reduction of already paid tickets is not possible. 

TICKET RESTRICTIONS
Please note that in the event of above-average demand, the number of tickets may be limited to two per customer.

TICKET RETURN
Tickets that have been paid for cannot be returned or exchanged. If you are unable to attend the performance or are looking for a ticket at short notice, please feel free to use our ticket exchange at https://kartenboerse.staatsoper.de/.

Cast changes and other changes in the schedule of a performance do not entitle you to return tickets. Should there be any performance postponements or cancellations due to the pandemic, the full ticket price will of course be refunded.

THEATER HOLIDAYS
The box office at Marstallplatz and the telephone service will be closed from August 1 to 31. Written orders (via online form, e-mail or letter) will continue to be processed.

We recommend that you purchase tickets only from the advance booking offices listed here. Other platforms do not cooperate with the Bayerisches Staatstheater, therefore the validity of these tickets cannot be guaranteed by the Bayerischen Staatstheater.

REFUND OF CORONA VOUCHERS
Virtual vouchers were issued for many tickets that had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. These could be redeemed or returned for payment until the end of December 2023.
