MANY THANKS TO OUR CIRCLE MEMBERS

The Bayerische Staatsoper would like to thank all Circle members for their generous financial and spiritual support.

WE THANK THE BEISHEIM FOUNDATION

The apollon foyers as the bayerische staatsoper’s third venue
The Bayerische Staatsoper opens its doors: The Apollon Foyers will create a lively, inviting third venue in the heart of the city, for one and all to chat, lounge a while and discover in. The Nationaltheater’s forecourt will be made fully accessible, and for the first time the magnificent state rooms, the Königssaal, and the Ionic Rooms will be open to the public during the day. The goal is clear – to open up new perspectives for Munich’s residents and visitors to the city, to share creative experiences, and to strengthen the community through active participation.

The Beisheim Foundation's “Third Places” funding program in Munich cultural institutions
The Beisheim Foundation supports this project as part of its “Third Places” funding program, which was launched as a pilot project in Munich in 2024 and currently includes two other cultural institutions in addition to the Bavarian State Opera: the Haus der Kunst and the Schauburg Labor in Ramersdorf. The Beisheim Foundation is supporting the transformation of these institutions with a comprehensive funding approach: in addition to financial support, the program also includes professional input, collegial exchange, and an accompanying evaluation. Regular workshops, networking events, and inspirational trips promote knowledge transfer between the participating institutions – and encourage them to tackle challenges together.

The Beisheim Foundation
The Beisheim Foundation helps people lead self-determined, healthy, and fulfilling lives so that they can make an active contribution to a free society. To achieve this, we support projects and develop programs in the areas of education, health, culture, and sports. Our work is characterized by collaboration and impact-orientation.

WE THANK KARIN AND PROF. DR. H.C. ROLAND BERGER

Professor Roland Berger and his wife Karin Berger have been Premium Circle members since 2002. In addition, the Bergers have supported the Bayerische Staatsoper as Avantgarde Partners since 2009, enabling numerous world premieres and commissioned works, as well as 20th century operas.

Robert Hübner has been at the helm as Executive Manager in the third generation since 1995.

The RH group of companies expanded its commitment significantly during the 2019/20 season.  As part of their new Excellence Partnership they help to ensure the Bayerische Staatsoper’s high standards of quality, striving to bring inspiring singers to Munich.

MANY THANKS TO SIEMENS AG

Siemens AG is a leading international technology corporation. The company is active worldwide, primarily in the areas of electrification, automation and digitisation, and participates as a sponsor and driving force in numerous cultural events at the highest possible level. Siemens has been the main sponsor of theOrchestra Academy since 2007.

The Siemens Arts Program, whose activities aim to support excellent young artists around the globe, is an essential component of Siemens' cultural commitment. This is further ensured with their own  talent contests (e.g. the Siemens Opera Contest) and by encouraging junior staff to interact with established international cultural institutions, such as the Bayerische Staatsoper. Another explicit goal of the programme is the use of new technologies. Classical works by Pytor Tchaikovsky and Friedrich Gulda, for example, have been recorded with the Orchestra Academy, using the immersive 3D Sound method. It adds further sound reproduction axes to the usual stereo method, creating a listening experience akin to a live performance: giving the impression of sitting in the middle of the orchestra.

MANY THANKS TO VAN CLEEF & ARPELS

Founded in 1906 on Place Vendôme in Paris, the jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels inaugurated their first branch in Germany in 2017 on Munich’s Maximilianstraße. As a neighbour of the National Theatre and a long-time ballet supporter, the expansion of Van Cleef's commitment in Munich focuses on our dance company.

The cooperation with internationally renowned opera houses and ballet ensembles has been an instrinsic part of the company's philosophy for decades. Ballet is a key theme for Van Cleef & Arpels, fusing excellence with beauty and harmony - thus mirroring the company's core values.

The Bayerische Staatsballett has enjoyed Van Cleef & Arpels' support since 2018. We'd like to especially thank Van Cleef & Arpels for their generous support of a new production of Jewels.
