The Bayerische Staatsoper’s website is operated in compliance with the applicable legal regulations for data privacy (BayDSG – Bavarian data privacy legislation). The personal data of all users is handled with appropriate care and diligence (Art. 4 of BayDSG). Personal data will only be collected and used to be able to offer you the use of the website and its services.

With the visit to staatsoper.de, the Bayerische Staatsoper (or our webspace provider) collects data on every access to the offering (server logfiles). This access data includes: Name of the website accessed, file, date and time of the access, data volume transferred, report on successful access, browser type and version, user’s operating system, referrer URL (previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider. We only use the log data for statistical analyses on the purpose of the visit, security and optimization of the offering. Personal data is information, with the aid of which a person is identifiable, so information that can be traced back to a person. This includes the person’s name, e-mail address and telephone number. Generally speaking, you can use our website without personal data being collected.

To use specific services of our website you must, however, submit personal data. You use these services voluntarily and you decide whether or not you want to provide your data. This, for example, includes our newsletter, all forms and parts of the press area. All personal data collected for ticket orders and ticket sales is stored and processed by the Bavarian State Theatres Central Ticket Service. Please note the special data privacy instructions in this respect.

We will only use the personal data you provide via our website for the purposes of the respective surveys. Personal data that is collected via our website is not provided to third parties. However, a provision of personal data to state institutions and authorities entitled to receive such information will be made if requested in line with the applicable legal disclosure requirements or if we are required by a court decision to disclose such information.

Our website uses cookies; however, these do not store any personal data. Cookies are small text files that your Internet browser stores locally on your computer. The users can influence the use of the cookies. Most browsers have an option to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. You can then also fully use all of our website’s functions, if you have deactivated the use of cookies via your browser. We would however point out that user convenience is limited without cookies.

The Bayerische Staatsoper protects your personal data against unauthorized access and unauthorized use or publication. Your personal data is encrypted for this by our website with the SSL process (Secure Socket Layer) when sending it to the Bayerische Staatsoper’s servers. Furthermore, the Bayerische Staatsoper also keeps your personal data in a controlled secure server environment, in which unauthorized access and publication are prevented.

We inform you about ourselves and our offers with our Newsletter. If you would like to receive the newsletter, we need a valid e-mail address from you, where you will receive an aptly-named “opt-in” e-mail. By clicking on the link you confirm that you want to subscribe to the newsletter and activate sending. The provision of further data is optional. This data will only be used for sending the newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties.

You can revoke your consent to storing the data, the e-mail address and its use to send the newsletter at any time. The revocation can be made via a link in the newsletters, on the website or by sending a message to the contact options above.

The personal ordering data will be collected, processed and used in accordance with the applicable data privacy regulations. With orders on www.staatsoper.de, essentially all data is protected by a secure connection (SSL and TLS) between your PC and our server. The personal ordering data (name, address, e-mail, telephone number, for example) is collected, processed and used in compliance with the data privacy regulations applicable for ticket orders in an automated process and only for the substantiation, arrangement or amendment of the contractual relationship.

You will find information on the data privacy guidelines for online ticket purchases via the "Bavarian State Theatres Central Ticket Service" on the respective website.

It can happen that third party content, such as YouTube videos, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, for example, will be integrated within this online offering. In this respect, the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third party providers”) must always use the user’s IP address, as without the IP address they cannot send the content to the user’s browser. The IP address is therefore required to display this content. We do our very best to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. However, we have no influence on whether or not the third party providers store the IP address, for statistical purposes, for example. If this is known to us, we inform the user about it.

As a user you have the right in our online services to receive free of charge information on request about the personal data about you that has been stored. You also have the right to the correction of incorrect data, as well as the blocking and deletion of your personal data (Art. 12 of BayDSG), provided there is no legal obligation to retain such data.
