Lorraine Blouin

Stager

Born in Montréal (Canada) and trained at the National Ballet School in Toronto, Lorraine joined the National Ballet of Canada in 1981, where she had previously completed an apprenticeship. She was appointed soloist in 1987. In 1988 she joined the Desrosiers Dance Theatre in Toronto. She left Canada in 1990 to join the main company of Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT). Her career as a dancer with the NDT ended in 2004 when she became rehearsal director of NDT I. After eleven years in this position, she left the NDT to work as a freelance ballet master for Jiří Kylián, Sol León and Paul Lightfoot. Since then, she has worked with various companies, including the Stuttgart Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, the Ballet company at Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in Moscow, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Teatro alla Scala Ballet in Milan and Les Ballets de Monte Carlo. In 2023, she staged Schmetterling by Sol León & Paul Lightfoot for the Bayerisches Staatsballett.
