Lorraine Blouin

Stager

Lorraine Blouin was born in Montreal, Canada. She started her dance training at the National Ballet School in Toronto at the age of 13. After a short apprenticeship with the company, she was invited to join the National Ballet of Canada in 1981, where she became a soloist in 1987. In 1988 she joined the Desrosiers Dance Theatre also in Toronto and in 1990 left Canada to join Netherlands Dance Theatre I. Her performing career with NDT ended in 2004 when she became rehearsal director for NDT I. After eleven years in this function, Lorraine left NDT to freelance as a stager for Jiří Kylián and Sol León/Paul Lightfoot  She has since worked with various companies including, Stuttgart Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Stanislavsky Theatre Ballet, La Scala Theatre Ballet, Ballet de Monte Carlo, Bayerisches Staatsballett and Netherlands Dance Theatre.
