Andrew Bruce

Sound designer Andrew Bruce is former head of sound for the Royal Opera House. His credits with the Royal Opera House include sound design for Will Tuckett’s The Seven Deadly Sins, Deborah MacMillan’s one-act production Isadora and original sound design for Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for The Royal Ballet.
Bruce began his theatre career at Glyndebourne in 1968 and was appointed head of sound at the Royal Opera House in 1971. A year later he co-founded Autograph Sound, a leading British sound design and equipment hire company. In 1981 he was sound consultant on the original Paris version of Les Misérables, and subsequently designed the sound for the 1985 London production and all further productions worldwide. Other West End credits include Evita, Cats, Starlight Express, Mamma Mia!, Miss Saigon, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Song and Dance, Chess, City of Angels and The Secret Garden.
