Jean Cortinovis
Born Gian Samuele Cortinovis in Almè (Italy) in 1929 and died in Garches (France) in 2015, the accordionist and composer accompanied Jacques Brel for six years from 1960 and composed the music for several chansons sung by Brel, either alone (Les bourgeois), with Brel and Gérard Jouannest (Les vieux, Madeleine, Les Toros) or with Gérard Jouannest (Titine). In addition to Brel, he also worked with Georges Brassens, Barbara, Henri Tachan and Alain Bashung, and in later years with the band Têtes Raides.
