Nour El Desouki
Soloist
Nour El Desouki grew up in Egypt and was trained at the dance department of the school of arts in Cairo. He was engaged with the ballet company of the Cairo Opera from 1997-2000 - since 1999 as a principal dancer - and then joined the ZIG ZAG Ballet in Stamford before dancing with the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden. He won several prizes at ballet competitions including two first prizes at the national ballet competition Cairo.
Desouki 's repertoire includes classical pieces (Swan Lake, Le Corsaire) as well as contemporary pieces like Forsythe's The Vertiginious Thrill of Exactitude and Glenn Tetley's Voluntaries. He also danced many choreographies by Neumeier, Derevianko and Scholz.
He joined the corps de ballet of the Bavarian State Ballet in autumn 2005 and was promoted to soloist in 2008.
