Valentina Divina

Ballet Mistress

Valentina Divina, born in Bozen, Italy, came to the Munich Ballet-Academy / Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung at the age of 14. After her graduation she started her first engagement with John Neumeier at the Hamburg Ballett and returned to Munich in 1989, when Bayerisches Staatsballett was founded. In 1995 she was promoted to Soloist and in autumn 2004 to First Soloist. In addition to her dancing career Valentina Divina holds a diploma in ballet pedagogy. Therefore, she is engaged in the education programmes of Bayerisches Staatsballett and was part of the leading team of the school project Anna tanzt in July 2006.
In 1993 she created her first choreography, Questions, for Young Choreographers at Prinzregententheater, which was followed by Lady Macbeth in 2001. In 2002 she choreographed Lamento della Ninfa and in 2003 the solo Ophelia with the music by Hans Werner Henze.

Since the beginning of the season 2010/11 Valentina Divina is engaged as a ballet mistress at Bayerisches Staatsballett.
