Johanna Dorothea Görißen
Johanna Dorothea Görißen has won numerous national and international competitions, including first prize at the Felix Godefroid International Harp Competition (2022) and fifth prize at the USA International Harp Competition (2022). In 2023, she reached the semifinals of the International ARD Music Competition and received a scholarship from the German Music Competition. She began playing the harp at the age of eight and completed her bachelor's degree at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin with Maria Graf. Her master's studies took her to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam to study with Sandrine Chatron, Erika Waardenburg, and Gwyneth Wentink, and then back to Berlin to study with Sivan Magen. She has received various scholarships for her achievements, including one from the German National Academic Foundation. Since 2016, she has given regular solo recitals and chamber music concerts, including at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. She made her debut as a soloist with an orchestra at the age of 13 and has performed with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, among others. She also plays regularly with renowned orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2022 to 2024, she was an academician with the Munich Philharmonic, and since 2024 she has been a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and, since September 2025, an academician at the Hermann Levi Academy of the Bavarian State Orchestra.
