Peter Son Goetz

Peter Son Goetz, born in Marburg an der Lahn, has been playing the violin since his primary school days and soon began taking piano lessons as well. He studied with Thomas Christian at the Detmold University of Music from 2017 and with Ulrike-Anima Mathé from 2020. In 2022, he moved to Lena Neudauer at the Munich University of Music and Theatre, where he completed his Bachelor's degree in 2024 and is currently studying for a Master's degree. He attended masterclasses with Frank Peter Zimmermann, Christoph Poppen, Edward Zienkowski, Andrzej Gębski and Konstanty Andrzej Kulka in Detmold, Łańcut (Poland) and at the international string academy ‘Stringtime Niederrhein’ in Goch. In 2016, he made his debut as a soloist with the orchestra of the Podkarpacka Philharmonic Orchestra in Rzeszów with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's A major concerto. In 2019, he won 1st prize at the national ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition. In the same year, he was accepted as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation. In 2021, he played Antonín Dvořák's Violin Concerto with the Bergische Symphoniker. He has been a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie since 2023. He plays on a violin made by Aachen master violin maker Falk Peters, which was made available to him in 2017 by the LIONS charity Castrop-Rauxel. He has been a member of the Hermann-Levi-Academy of the Bavarian State Orchestra since 2025. (Status: 2025)
