Anna Larsson
Mezzo-soprano
Anna Larsson was born in Stockholm where she completed her music education at the University College of Opera. Ever since, she has built a strong reputation for herself worldwide, singing the role of Erda at opera houses in Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Salzburg, Stockholm and the Festival Aix-en-Provence. In addition, she sang roles like Waltraude, Orphée, Fricka and Dalila (Samson et Dalila) at the Royal Opera Stockholm, the State Opera Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera, in Valencia and Florence, at the Salzburg Festival, the Festival Aix-en-Provence, in Copenhagen and at the Finnish National Opera. Her opera repertory includes among others: Geneviève (Pelléas et Mélisande), Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice), Ottone (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia, Orlando in Orlando, Gaea in Daphne and Andronico in Tamerlano. On the concert stage, Anna Larsson is especially well-known for her interpretation of Gustav Mahler’s works.
During the Ballet Festival Week 2012, Ms. Larsson will sing the mezzo-soprano part in Song of the Earth (Mahler/MacMillan).
