Geoffrey Paterson
Conductor
Geoffrey Paterson studied composition and conducting at Cambridge University and at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He works at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London regularly, where he conducts Operas such as Massenet’s Le Portait de Manon, Julian Grant’s Hot House, Julia Philip’s How the Whale Became and Søren Nils Eichberg's Glare. Other engagements took him to the Opera North in Leeds, to the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen and the Iford Arts Festival. He also assisted cunductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Antonio Pappano, Mark Elder, Andris Nelsons and Daniele Gatti and conducted orchestras such as the Manchester Camerata, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the London Sinfonietta and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
