Marta Rando

Marta Aurelija Rando, born in Riga, Latvia, comes from a musical family. She began violin lessons at the age of five, first studying with Ludmila Girska and later with Nelli Sarkisjan. Since the winter semester 2020/2021, she has been pursuing her bachelor's degree with Prof. Markus Wolf at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where she graduated in 2024. She is currently continuing her master’s studies at the Stella Vorarlberg Private University of Music under Prof. Rudens Turku. Marta has participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned artists such as Laurent A. Breuninger, Sergei Dogadin, Stephan Picard, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Vadim Gluzman, Maxim Vengerov, Rudens Turku, and others. In 2019, she was awarded a scholarship from the Arkady Fomin Scholarship Fund. Orchestral playing has always been close to Marta’s heart. She has performed with the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra, and in 2023, she was an academy member at the Pacific Music Festival in Japan. In the 2023/2025 season, Marta was a scholarship holder of the Orchestra Academy of the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hannover. Since October 2025, she has been a member of the Hermann-Levi-Academy of the Bayerichen Staatsorchesters.
