Katya Richardson
Katya Richardson is best known for her looping textures and cinematic sound worlds. Hailing from a diverse background of jazz and electronica, collaborative art has always been the center of her pursuits. She has worked with acclaimed ensembles from all over the world, having written for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and premiered dance pieces at The Royal Opera House in London. As a film composer, Katya has scored a variety of commercials and documentaries, most notably working as a studio assistant for A-list composers Danny Elfman (The Nightmare Before Christmas), Hans Zimmer (Inception) and with Rob Simonsen on Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). Katya is currently scoring a musical in collaboration with Idina Menzel (Frozen) and a movement film with dancers from Joffrey Ballet. She resides in Los Angeles and is an alumna of the University of Southern California.
