Leela Subramaniam
Leela Subramaniam, born in Los Angeles, studied voice at the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
She won various awards and competitions including the Alan M. and Joan Taub Ades Vocal Competition in New York and the National Council Auditions at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She performed at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and the Prototype Festival in New York as well as in various productions at the Manhattan School of Music. Her repertoire includes Giannetta (L'elisir d'amore), Angelica (Orlando Paladino), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and the title roles in Thaïs and Lucia di Lammermoor. In the 2015/16 season the Opera Foundation's stipendiary Leela Subramaniam will be a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper's Opera Studio.
