Bregje van Balen

Bregje has been a prominent dancer for 18 years with the Netherlands Dance Theatre (NDT) I and II. Always interested in costume design, she created her first costumes for the annual NDT Workshop and small dance projects. After retiring as a dancer she trained as a designer at Baruch Mode Academie. She has worked with several companies including Netherlands Dance Theatre I and II, The Royal Ballet London, The Paris Opera, the Norwegian National Ballet, Gothenburg Ballet, Skånes Danstheater, Hamburg Ballet, Introdans, Royal Swedish Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, the Icelandic Dancetheatre, Pushkin Theater Moscow, Bolshoi Ballet, Staatstheater Mainz, Gartnerplatztheater, Aalto Theater, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, les Grands Ballets de Montreal, Zurich Ballet and Stuttgart Ballet. She has worked with choreographers including, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Jorma Elo, Medhi Walerski. Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Lukas Timulak, Bryan Arias, Ina Christel Johannessen, Hege Haagenrud, Jo Strømgren, Tom Weinberger, Felix Landerer and Cathy Marston.
