Iris van Wijnen

Iris van Wijnen studied voice at the Utrechts Conservatorium with Nathalie Doucet, Peter Nilsson, and Ira Siff. 


She participated in various masterclasses with Kiri Te Kanawa, Siegfried Jerusalem, Leontina Văduva, and Rudolf Jansen. In 2014, she won three prizes at the International Vocal Competition's-Hertogenbosch. She performed at the Nederlandse Reisopera in Enschede and at the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam. Her repertoire includes Susanna (Il segreto di Susanna), Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Bess (Porgy and Bess) as well as First Fairy, First Woman and Soprano (The Fairy Queen). On the concert stage she has appeared together with the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble in Amsterdam. Since the 2015/16 season Iris van Wijnen is a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper's Opera Studio.
