He began studying at the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet, during the 2006 and 2007 summer courses and enrolled as a full-time student in winter of 2007. Peter Walker’s first work for the Company, ten in seven, premiered at NYCB’s Fall 2016 Gala. His second work for the company, dance odyssey, premiered at NYCB’s New Combinations Evening Winter 2018 set to music by British composer Oliver Davis, arranged specifically for the ballet. Peter Walker has often choreographed for the School of American Ballet as well.
In collaboration with dancer/videographer Emily Kikta, he also choreographs for videos produced specifically for social media platforms. They were commissioned to produce the marketing campaign for NYCB’s residency at Saratoga Performing Arts Center for 2017 and 2018. Their work has also been featured in Dance Camera West’s To the Sea Festival in 2018.
Peter Walker is one of the four young choreographers working with the Bayerisches Staatsballett in 2018. The results of this collaboration are going to be presented for the first time on July, 4th 2018.
