Jörg Zielinski

Jörg Zielinski is the Set Design Manager and Deputy Production Director at the Zurich Opera House. Originally from Berlin, he has been living in Switzerland since 1991. He completed his training as well as his studies in Berlin, Basel and Zurich. As Production Director at the Basel Theatre and manager at The Really Useful Group, he gained extensive experience in the field of international theatre production. He worked on the Expo.02 in Zverdon-les-Bains and the interior design of Hotel Offen in Baden. He gained further experience in design at Vitra. As Set Design Manager at the Zurich Opera House, he works together with the Shanghai Opera House and, as a result, he has led to further collaborations with the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Peking and the University of the Arts Zurich, where he has been invited to speak. As part of his Masters, Jörg Zielinski has also delivered lectures at the University of the Arts in Bern. He designs and produces stage sets and scenic arrangements. He has created designs for the Zurich Opera House, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the London Studio United Visual Artists and various independent projects. His photographs have been published and exhibited internationally. Together with Christian Spuck, he is responsible for the stage design of Anna Karenina. (Information as of Nov 2017)
