Recitals 2024–25
The Bayerische Staatsoper has been inviting singers to its lieder recitals for several decades now. The festival period is also recital time here with us. Most of the performers, who embody opera roles in Munich’s Nationaltheater, are also very much in their element with Kunstlieder (art songs), in which the human voice is expressed musically. We can therefore also look forward in the coming season to a series of the highest accoladed interpreters in this discipline at the Bayerische Staatsoper, some for the first time, others as welcome repeat offenders. Christian Gerhaher can be enjoyed twice indeed in the 2024/2025 season, once with soprano Julia Kleiter at his side, and on both occasions with Gerold Huber on piano. Two more baritones each arrange a programme in the Prinzregententheater. Gerald Finley, a regular guest performer here with us, as he is around the world, and our ensemble member, Konstantin Krimmel. And the tenors are also on board, accompanied by pianist Helmut Deutsch. Piotr Beczała and Jonas Kaufmann will perform in the Nationaltheater with their recital choice. Spread over the season, the portrait concerts of the Opera Studio, in which the young members present themselves with diverse programmes, also enrich the recital offering at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
The Opera Festival 2024 also offers top-class recitals. Below you will find an overview of all song recitals from summer 2024 until the end of the 2024–25 season.
