SONG Recitals 2026/27
Most of the vocal interpreters, who embody opera roles on the main stage, are also very much in their element with Kunstlieder (Art Songs), in which the human voice is expressed musically. For many years now, the Bayerische Staatsoper has therefore ensured it could invite singers to the lieder recitals, whether in the Nationaltheater, the Prinzregententheater or the Cuvilliés Theatre. The festival period is also recital time here at the Bayerische Staatsoper. In the coming season, we can look forward to welcoming a whole host of outstanding singers in this field to the Bayerische Staatsoper – including Natalie Lewis, now promoted directly from the Bayerische Staatsoper’s Opera Studio into the ensemble, and already turning heads internationally. Following her house debut as Ismene (Mitridate), soprano Lisette Oropesa has now embarked on a global career and in the 2026/27 will also appear with the festival performances in the title role of the new Maria Stuarda production. As a guest performer in almost every season since her debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper (as Zerbinetta in 1999), Diana Damrau will once again arrange a recital programme. Ensemble member Konstantin Krimmel sings with his piano partner Ammiel Bushakevitz, while Jonas Kaufmann performs with his long-time recital pianist, Helmut Deutsch, who recently celebrated his eightieth birthday. Anna Netrebko will perform alongside her piano partner Pavel Nebolsin. In addition, the Bayerische Staatsopr's song program will be enriched by portrait concerts by the Opernstudio throughout the season, in which the young members will present themselves with a variety of programs.
