Eric Blom

Born in 1962, Eric Blom trained as an architect and civil engineer. In the late 1980s, he worked for several theatre companies, including Stuffed Puppet Theatre, directed by Neville Tranter. From the early nineties, Blom was employed as a lighting technician at the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), subsequently taking on several management positions in the areas of production, administration and tech. Over a period of more than 30 years, he has worked with choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Hans van Manen, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Marco Goecke, Johan Inger and Medhi Walerski and made the necessary adaptations to local conditions on stages around the world. He has been working freelance since autumn 2024 and most recently provided technical support for the staging of works by the Léon & Lightfoot duo at the National Theatre in Brno and the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. With Bayerisches Staatsballett, Eric a has already collaborated in spring 2023, when he was the technical coordinator for the Schmetterling double bill.
