In the Spheres series, ballet director Laurent Hilaire is focussing on the younger generation of dance creators. Following the two evenings curated by Marco Goecke and Angelin Preljocaj, the choreographer duo Sol León and Paul Lightfoot have been invited for the third edition in June 2025. The pair have been known to Munich audiences since their frenetically acclaimed ballet evening Schmetterling. In the third edition of the Spheres series, ballet director Laurent Hilaire is once again interested in tracking down connections within a choreographic "sphere" and deriving elements of a possible dance language of the future. The invited choreographers are given an attractive platform to present their work and enter into a dialogue with other dance makers and the audience. The performances with choreographies by the younger generation are very popular and show the broad spectrum of artistic styles with which ballet is created today. Narrative, abstract, improvised, classical and performance art elements are used and show the direction in which ballet could develop.
