Eric Chad

Eric is an interactive projection artist, lighting designer, and show control/integration specialist based in Vancouver, B.C. His work blends interactive elements, generative design, and live tracking with a deep appreciation for natural forms. His recent theatre and dance credits include collaborations with Kidd Pivot, Out Innerspace, Anne Plamondon, Emma Portner, Electric Company Theatre, Crystal Pite, Why Not Theatre, Action at a Distance, Joe Ink, Plastic Orchid Factory, and Shay Kuebler. Eric has also designed for companies such as GöteborgsOperan Danskompani, Ballet BC, the Royal Swedish Ballet, Gibney Dance, the Norwegian National Ballet, and Hessisches Staatsballett. Outside the theatre, Eric created video content for the 2024 Grey Cup, featuring the Jonas Brothers and Owen Reigling. He is a founding member of Lobe Studio in Vancouver, B.C.— the first permanent 4DSOUND venue in North America—and worked as an interactive designer for the Canadian Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai. Eric holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science from McGill University. He is currently a Sessional Instructor at Douglas College and an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia.
