Bert Dalhuysen
Bert Dalhuysen grew up in the Netherlands and studied at the Academy of Photography and Photoesthetics in The Hague. For four years he worked as managing director and photographer at the photography and design studio Arinde Visual Design in Amsterdam. In 1986 he was hired at the opera in Amsterdam, where he has since been responsible for the artistic direction of lighting for the Dutch National Ballet. For the past 20 years, Bert Dalhuysen has been working internationally as a lighting designer for ballet, drama and opera productions and has worked with choreographers such as David Dawson, Krisztina de Châtel Jan Fabre, Nicolo Fonte, Itzik Galili, Krzysztof Pastor, Martin Schläpfer and Hans van Manen.
