Christoph Gaiser
Born in Spaichingen (Germany), Christoph Gaiser read musicology, journalism and comparative literature at Universität Leipzig and obtained a PhD degree in musicology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He received grants by Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and Deutsche Bank Stiftung. He interned at the management of Bayerisches Staatsballett in season 2004-05 and worked as a dramaturg and prodction manager at Saarländisches Staatstheater, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Konzert Theater Bern and Badisches Staatstheater, working together with conductors such as Constantin Trinks, Konrad Junghänel and George Petrou, with stage directors such as Inga Levant, Nigel Lowery and Peter Lund and with choreographers such as Marguerite Donlon, Estefania Miranda, Felix Landerer, Koen Augustijnen, Ryan Djojokarso, Reginaldo Oliveira and Tim Plegge.
From 2016 through 2021, he reviewed grant applications in the Performing Arts field for the Regional Government in Basel (Switzerland).
From 2021 through 2024 he was living in Washington, D.C. freelancing as a writer, editor and translator. Clients included Philharmonie Luxembourg, Bühnen Bern, Sinfonieorchester Basel and the La La Opera e.V. collective. Articles on organ music, organ building and church music were published in the "Ars Organi", "organ", "Musik und Kirche", "Musik und Gottesdienst" and "Württembergische Blättern für Kirchenmusik" magazines.
In season 2024-25, he joined Bayerisches Staatsballett as a dramaturg.
