Yago Gonzaga

Demi-Soloist

Yago Gonzaga hails from Belém in the Brazilian state of Pará. In 2016 he graduated from the Bolshoi Theatre School in Joinville (Brazil) in the class of Dmitry Afanasyev and joined the young company of the Bolshoi Theatre School. Before that, he had also trained as a tailor and designer at Studio de Moda Claudia Alchini. From the 2018/19 season on, he danced at the Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre as principal. He was awarded the "PI Tchaikovsky" prize in Perm for the best performance with music of Peter Tchaikovsky. In 2018 he won the bronze medal and the prize of the "jury press" at the ballett competition "Arabesque". Since the 2022/23 season he has been dancing with Bayerisches Staatsballett as a demi-soloist.
