Edouard Hue

Choreographer

Edouard Hue began his dance training at the Conservatoire Régional d'Annecy before joining the Ballet Junior de Genève. He danced with the Hofesh Shechter Company, Olivier Dubois in France and in Geneva with Foofwa d'imobilité, the Alias Compagnie and Jozsef Trefeli, among others. In 2019, he was honoured with the Swiss Dance Award as "Exceptional Dancer". He founded the Beaver Dam Company in Geneva in 2014. With Murky Depths, he created his first duet, which was immediately honoured with numerous awards and performed internationally. Edouard Hue quickly developed his own style, which he himself describes as a mixture of controlled virtuosity and mischievous spontaneity. In 2021, he presented two new pieces: Yumé, a creation for a young audience, and All I Need for 9 dancers. In 2023, his dance piece entitled Dive was premiered. Edouard Hue has also developed choreographies for other companies. He created the part of Domine Jesu for Requiem by Yoann Bourgeois in Grenoble. No Matter was created for the Gauthier Dance Company (Stuttgart), Titan for the Ballett Basel and The Fire Bird for the Grand Opéra d'Avignon. Companies and dance schools that have works by him in their repertoire include the Frontier Danceland Company (Singapore), Le Marchepieds (Lausanne), SEAD (Salzburg), the School of Contemporary Dance of Montreal and Dance Area. (Geneva).The choreography Skinny Hearts, as part of Sphären.02, is the first time a choreography by Edouard Hue is performed at the Bayerisches Staatsballett.
