Violetta Keller
Principal Dancer
Violetta grew up in Munich and trained at the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theatre in Munich. Immediately after graduating in 2018, she joined the junior company of the Finnish National Ballet, moving to the main company a year later. In the company's five-tier hierarchy, she reached the soloist tier in 2021 and received the Outi & Vapaavouri Foundation's Young Dancer Award in the same year. In 2022 she was promoted to first soloist (Enssitanssija/Premiärdansare). For the 2025/26 season, ballet director Laurent Hilaire invited her to join Bayerisches Staatsballett as a Principal Dancer.
During her time in Helsinki, Violetta Keller performed the roles of Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty (there in the version by Javier Torres after Petipa), Odette and Odile in Swan Lake (there in the version by David McAllister), Clara in The Nutcracker (there in the version by Wayne Eagling and Toer van Schayk) and the title role in Raymonda (there in the version by Tamara Rojo). She also took on the roles of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (John Cranko), Titania and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Jorma Elo), Micaëla in Carmen (Liam Scarlett) and Aino Sibelius in Sibelius (Jorma Elo). She has also appeared in pieces such as Signing Off (Sol León & Paul Lightfoot) and Sacre (Goyo Montero).
