Elena Mednik was born in Dnepropetrowsk. She studied at the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow to become a concert pianist. During her studies she recived awards at the Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb in Zwickau and the J. S. Bach-Wettbewerb in Saarbrücken.
In Germany she continued her studies at the Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium in Munich.
In the 2001/2002 season she was a répétiteur at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. There she played in several ballet productions as a solo pianist including Goldberg-Variationen (J. S. Bach), Paganini-Variationen (W. Lutoslawskis), Alice im Wunderland (W. Lutoslawskis), Hallelujah Junction (J. Adams).
Since fall 2008 Elena Mednik is a répétiteur with the Bayerisches Staatsballett.
