Stefan Moser

Team assistant & character dancer

Stefan was born in Ulm (Germany) and attended the ballet school of Stadttheater Ulm from 1979 to 1982. He first joined the John Cranko School in Stuttgart and then from 1985 on the Munich Ballet Centre, where he received his diploma in 1987. He won the bronze medal at the Federal German Dance Competition in 1986. In 1987 he joined Ballett der Bayerischen Staatsoper. Here and in its successor institution, Bayerisches Staatsballett, he danced Lucentio in John Carnko'sThe Taming of the Shrew, as well as in Uwe Scholz's Piano Concerto in E-flat Major, Five Tangos by Hans van Manen, Tabula Rasa by Ohad Naharin and Larmes blanches by Angelin Preljocaj. In 1993 Stefan was promoted to demi-soloist. In 1993 he presented his piece O tahidrômos at the 2nd Forum „Choreography“. During the 1995-96 season, Stefan trained as a choreologist at the Benesh Institute in London. In 2002 he was elected Chairman of the Works Council of Bayerische Staatsoper and held that position until the 2021-22 season. At Bayerisches Staatsballett he currently works in project management and counseling.
