Marjan Mozetich
The composer Marjan Mozetich is one of the most broadcast Canadian composers of today. His music has been used by many dance companies, movies, and even on a national airline. Many of his works have been recorded. In 2002, his Affairs of the Heart was nominated for a Juno award, and he won the 2010 Juno Award for best classical work of the year, Lament in the Trampled Garden. He also received two SOCAN Jan Matejcek Awards for the most performed and broadcast composer of concert music. Marjan Mozetich has written compulsory pieces for the 1992 Banff String Quartet Competition and the 1995 and 2014 Montreal International Music Competitions. In 1995 he was the featured composer on postmodern music at the Gent Conservatory Music Festival in Belgium. Marjan Mozetich is a music graduate of the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music. He further advanced his studies in Italy and England.
