Conductor

Myron Romanul has been conducting performances at the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian State Ballet since 1987. He has conducted the Bavarian State Orchestra in performances of Madama Butterfly and La Cenerentola and the ballet productions Swan Lake,Onegin, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Le Sacre du printemps, Raymonda, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Le Corsaire, Paquita, Der gelbe Klang and La Fille mal gardée, among others.He is also currently Principal Conductor of the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra since 2005. Prior to this, he has worked as a conductor and Kapellmeister for the Boston Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Staatstheater Mainz and the Aalto Theater Essen. As a concert pianist, he was soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops and various orchestras in the US, working with Seiji Ozawa, Kurt Masur, Arthur Fiedler and John Williams, among others. As a chamber musician, he won the International Jeunesses Musicals Chamber Music Competition with his three brothers. With the New England Conservatory Ragtime Ensemble, he was featured in the album Scott Joplin: The Red Back Book which won a Grammy for "Best Classical Chamber Music". In 2014, he was nominated for the Marie Taglioni European Award for "Best Conductor".
