Gabriela Scherer
Gabriela Scherer comes from Zurich and studied voice at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 2005 she was a prize-winner at the International Competition of the Rheinsberg Palace Chamber Opera, where she débuted as Hänsel. She has since interpreted this role, among other places, at the Hans-Otto Theatre in Potsdam and at the Leipzig Opera, where she was on the roster for the 2007/2008 season. Here, she also sang Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw), Annio (La clemenza di Tito) and the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos).
Roles at the Bavarian State Opera: Silla (Palestrina), Third Maid (Elektra), Klingsor’s Flower Maiden (Parsifal).
2010/11 Season: Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Mércèdes (Carmen), Fenena (Nabucco), Sœur Mathilde (Dialogues des Carmélites), Klingsors Zaubermädchen (Parsifal).
