Jonathan Soucasse

Jonathan Soucasse is a French composer and pianist who, in addition to his artistic degree, also studied musicology and graduated as a ballet accompanist. An extremely versatile pianist, he is known for the ease with which he creates links between jazz, classical, contemporary music and improvisation in his compositions and arrangements. He regularly performs as a soloist and composes music for dance ensembles, theatre and film projects. He won the audience prize at the Crest Jazz Festival. As a musician he is engaged by companies such as Ballet Preljocaj, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, P.A.R.T.S. de Kersmaeker, Opéra national de Paris, Béjart Ballet Lausanne. In addition to his work for the choreography Skinny Hearts by Edouard Hue at the Bayerisches Staatsballett, he also composes the music for the Beaver Dam Company under the artistic direction of Edouard Hue in 2024. In 2023 he completed the second album of his jazz trio Jon and John.
