Daniel Stokes

Daniel Stokes was born in 1987 in Cannes, where he began dancing at the age of nine. In 1999 he joined the dance school at the Paris Opera and was accepted into the corps de ballet in 2005. In 2007 he was promoted to "Coryphée" and in 2011 to "Sujet". In 2009 he first performed Jacques Garnier's choreography Aunis, in which he will be giving is Munich stage debut in September 2023. In Paris, Daniel Stokes has appeared in numerous productions of the classical repertoire: Cinderella, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, La Bayadère in Rudolph Nureyev's versions, and La Sylphide and Paquita by Pierre Lacotte. He has also worked with numerous contemporary choreographers. These include productions by Pina Bausch, Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Anne Thérésa de Keersmeaker and William Forsythe. He is currently working on Rudolph Nureyev's Raymonda for a guest performance with the Paris Opera in Aix-en-Provence and on Jerome Robbin's ballet En Sol, in addition to his guest appearance in Munich as part of the performance Blickwechsel.
