Bettina Wagner-Bergelt
Head of dramaturgy and production, artistic head of Campus Staatsballett
Bettina Wagner-Bergelt studied German literature, film, theatre, Romance languages and literature and worked as a dramatic adviser at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt until 1985.
She then joined the department music, theatre and dance in Munich as deputy director and was responsible for the dance festivals of the city of Munich and of the Bavarian State Opera from 1986-1989 (DANCE and New Dance).
She worked as a freelancer for several publications, exhibition projects (1991: Cage, Neue Pinakothek) and was a member of the jury for the Philipp Morris arts award for 5 years.
Since 1989, she has worked for the Bavarian State Ballet with a focus on modern productions. When Ivan Liška took over the position as Artistic Director of the Bavarian State Ballet from Konstanze Vernon in 1998, he appointed her as Associate Artistic Director (focussed on modern and contemporary Dance productions as well as the education programme) alongside Wolfgang Oberender (focussed on classical dance)
She has been appointed as curator of the international festival DANCE 2008 by the city of Munich.
In April 2014 she was awarded the Lejeune-Preis und only a few months later the French Ministre de la Culture et de la Communication honored her with the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her merits concerning the French-German collaboration.
Bettina Wagner-Bergelt left the Bayerische Staatsballett at the end of the 2016/17 season.
