Laurretta Summerscales nominated as Dancer of the Year 2021!
Principal Laurretta Summerscales has been nominated by the magazine DANCE EUROPE in the category best dancer in 2021. Laurretta Summerscales comes from Surrey, Great Britain and began her dance training at the age of three. After graduating from the English National Ballet School, she was accepted into the compagnie of the National Ballet in 2009. There she was promoted to First Soloist in 2013 and Principal three years later. She has been engaged in the same position at the Bavarian State Ballet since the 2017/18 season and has delighted audiences in numerous roles, most recently as Odette / Odille in Swan Lake, in Liam Scarlett's With a Chance of Rain and as Giselle. In her dance career she has already won numerous awards, including three times Young Dancer of the Year from the English National Ballet and twice Molly Lake Award People’s Choice Award at the Emerging Dancer Competition.
