Zubin Mehta, highly honoured and esteemed former General Music Director of the Bayerische Staatsoper, returns to his place of work and opens the series of concerts with the predecessors of the acting musical director in the anniversary year of the Bayerische Staatsorchester. The focus of the 4th Academy Concert is Anton Bruckner's Seventh Symphony. Zubin Mehta will also accompany the phenomenal violinist Vilde Frang, who will bring Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's E minor Concerto, and will premiere a commission from a composer closely associated with the Bayerische Staatsoper: Minas Borboudakis is writing a new piece for the State Orchestra.
