A special premiere is on the program in the Bayerische Staatsorchester anniversary year: for the first time, the orchestra will play in Munich's youngest concert hall, giving a guest performance at the Isarphilharmonie in HP8. General Music Director Vladimir Jurowski will conduct two important works from the late Romantic and early Modern periods: the Violin Concerto by Alban Berg, dedicated "to the memory of an angel" - the daughter of Alma Mahler-Werfel and Walter Gropius, who died at an early age - and Anton Bruckner's monumental Symphony No. 4 in E-flat major, called the "Romantic." Two symphonic summit works, in which the Bayerische Staatsorchester can show off all its many centuries of tradition.
