The Bayerische Staatsoper opens its doors for the next Open Stage—with good vibes, drinks, and free admission!

From dance performances and singing to instrumental ensembles and poetic moments, a diverse stage program awaits you. Look forward to a lively mix of music, movement, acrobatics, and spoken word—creative, surprising, and full of energy. Afterward, a live Afro band and DJs will keep the party going and, above all, keep everyone dancing! 

Featuring: newcomers, familiar faces, and ensemble members from the Opera Studio, the Choir Academy of the Bayerische Staatsopernchor, the Bayerische Staatsorchester, and the Bayerische Staatsballett.

1.    “Finding Together Through Dance”
A dance duet that combines Brazilian Zouk couple dance with contemporary dance – everything becomes fast and close, but the human connection is further away than ever.

Acrobatic handstand quartet. Four bodies stand on their hands – showing that you can also dance upside down.

The dance choreography is about recurring encounters – meeting, pausing, and moving on.

10.    “Snake”
Dance solo. In 2025, the Chinese New Year marks the transition from the Year of the Dragon to the Year of the Snake. The dance solo is a fusion of the Latin jazz piece 'El Maja' and urban, experimental dance styles.

13.    “Microclimas”
Music live performance. This live performance combines Afro-Peruvian rhythms with electronic soundscapes by blending traditional instruments like the cajón, djembe, and quijada de burro (donkey jawbone) with synthesizers and sequencers.
