Simone Sandroni
Born in 1967, Simone Sandroni was a (founding) member of the Brussels-based dance theatre troupe Ultima Vez under artistic director Wim Vandekeybus until 1992. A year later, he started developing his own work with his company called Ernesto. After working with his own company, he started presenting work as a freelance choreographer for schools, theatres and conservatoires in Belgium, Italy, Canada, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In 1996, together with Lenka Flory, he founded the company Déjà Donné which has become widely successful since, performing in over 26 countries in Europe, North America and Asia. For the Bavarian State Ballet, Sandroni has staged his Cambio d'Abito (2010), P.S. Isabel Sévers: Mein Herz brach nur einmal, for Norbert Graf P.S. Norbert Graf: Schütze, Aszendent Skorpion, in 2012 Das Mädchen und der Messerwerfer based on a poetry cycle by Wolf Wondratschek and, in 2013, Boy meets Girl for the Junior Company.
